Our Little Family

In May, a friend of ours, Elliott Mullet came up for a visit. I was secretly hoping he would maybe snap a few photos of our family while he was here, since I knew he has a love for photography. I was more than thrilled when he asked if we would mind if he "practice" on us. :) We were very happy with his photo's, and I would say he does a pretty great job!
.

Saturday night, in Uptown Waterloo.  Yeah, it was freezing cold the end of May. Really?? I guess I'm still getting used to this Canadian weather.. OK, maybe it wasn't freezing, but it was really cold, and my fingers were about numb. Crazy, I know...

Sunday afternoon, we went to Webster Falls. It was lovely to be out enjoying the beautiful creation, the warm, late afternoon sunshine, friends, our little family and just the happiness of togetherness.

I love this one..It melts my heart! Our baby has such a great daddy! Thank you Jesus, for blessing my life with this incredible man, and darling baby boy.

I am so blessed. Really!!  Sometimes I wonder why He chooses to bless us so, when there are so many people out there hurting, broken and lost. Do I really grasp what I/we have, and thank Him for it??
I don't think I do...otherwise I would be constantly worshiping. I wouldn't forget, and have to remind myself so often that  I. Have. So. Much.  We have so much... !

Moments like these.. they are so special. Priceless. I'm realizing how fast life really does go. How can it be that my baby is already over 3 months? Where has it gone? Kenden has already changed so much, I can hardly remember just how tiny and different he was back in those first days and weeks. Have I mentioned yet that I simply l.o.v.e being his mommy?

Kenden was just hanging out on the ground, while daddy and mommy got a few pictures too. :) I love this child's happy expressions!

This is the man that I love spending my life with. It feels some days, like it's so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, and forget to treasure the every day moments that we have together... it's easy to feel like we don't have nearly enough time together, and let that drag me down.. then I to often, waste the precious time we DO have together, wishing we had more. It's so wrong.. I've been working on it, but still have a little ways to go.  Looking back, it's often some of the littler things, that stick out the most, and are the best memories.. So, I'm going to live in the moment, take a camera everywhere I go, and remember that today's moments are tomorrows memories. Cherish them!

More Highlights

I've already failed my goal for this thing... Yeah, I want to try and keep it current. Like a post a week.. that's really not asking too much of myself now, is it? Anyway, we're back again for a little more "reflection" on what's happened before the beginnings of this blog. :)

On March 13th,  2013 Kenden Graham came to join us, and make us a family. How we love this growing bundle of sweetness! I never knew there was even a love like I feel for him, existed.  Such a perfect gift from our Heavenly Father!

7lbs. 15oz. 20in long.

Our fabulous midwife, Michelle.

Such an angel boy.. I loved resting on the couch with him laying on my like this. .so perfect, and such happy memories. Thank you Jesus, that everything went well, and I was able to do things like this with our son when he was just hours and days old.

My sisters and their families came to visit the weekend after Kenden was born. Here are all of Kenden's cousins from my side of the family. Yes, I know, not the greatest picture, but I don't have the time to go searching for others right now.. or editing for that matter. Sometimes when there's a baby in the house you just have to hurry if you want things like this done. :)

When Kenden was 10 days old, we went on our first outing. Graham had one last concert for the season, so we had to make it there. Quite fitting for his first outing to be at a concert, since his daddy has such  a love for music. :) I almost forgot how incredibly tiny he was.

2 weeks old!

My sister Janelle came to  help us out for a few weeks when Kenden was just over 2 weeks old. It was great to have her here for company, and to help out with some of the "chores".

So sweet! Daddy and his boy, taking a snooze.

My two favourite men! At the bowling alley with Kenden. I was nervous to take him out when he was so tiny, but he did SO good!  He slept through the first half, and then woke up, just to join the party.

My baby boy l.o.v.e.s his bath time!

Getting all excited to meet Grandpa and Grandma! They're on their way.... almost here! :)

I just love this one of Dad with his babies! Looks like they're really talking. We were so incredibly privileged to have dad and mom come for a visit the end of April. They spent a week here. Dad worked on all kinds of things. Built us a bookshelf, pulled thousands of dandelions from our yard, and did lots of other hard work outside, sprucing the place up, while mom kept me great company inside. :)

My beautiful mother with my worn-out baby. :) So much excitement when Grandpa and Grandma are here!

My first mothers day. It just so happened to be snowing and blowing that day.. not my idea of a good day to get some nice pictures outside. I was only slightly saddened by this fact.
I'm so thankful I have this sweet little man to be mama to.

I was so blessed that my mom could be here for this special day! I had to make us matching dresses, because it was so special to have her with me.  Mom, I know, it isn't mothers day anymore, but thank you for all you have done, and still do for me! Since you're accident, I have come to realize even more how much you really mean to me. Thank-you for being a woman of God, and for teaching me (us) what's important in life. I hope I can be as sweet and gracious as you are when I get older. I love you!

You wouldn't dare call this boy "fat" now, would you??

A few pictures from his 10-week photo shoot.

Just melt me.. his eyes, his expressions, his smiles, his coo's and squeals.... Yes, I fell in love. Again. How can one baby boy, take up so much room in your heart?

Kenden, I love being your mommy! Thanks for being my sweet lil punkin boy..

New Beginnings...

So, I've decided now is the time to start a blog. It's something I've always wanted to do, but never had time, or inspiration. I'm not saying that I now have either one, but you have to start somewhere, right? And when in life will I ever have any more time than now?

Resolved to Worship. It's something I've been thinking about a lot in the last year or so. How do we worship? It is what we were created for..so we could return praise and worship, honour and glory to our Maker.  It's something I want to learn to integrate into my every day life. In the past I would always think that in order to worship, you have to be this perfect someone, who stops what they're doing often to worship. Yes, I think it is important to set time aside just for worship, but it's also something we can do throughout our everyday lives. It's actually a way of life. Living a life of thankfulness and gratitude is a way of worship, seeing the beauty in the small things, in the daily grind, and to actually think about Who sends all these little and big  blessings our way, and thanking Him. I guess I'm still sorting it out, and trying to work it into my heart and head, so it will come more naturally. Worshiping out of awe reverence and awe. I guess you could say that some of these thoughts is where I got my blog title from. This is what I am... Resolved to Worship our Creator God until my dying day.

This is a place I want to be able to publicly share our blessings..put into the archives pictures and thoughts. and remember. To be able to look back and see where He has brought us. Also, I see this as a place where my far-away family and friends to keep up a bit on our lives here in Canada.
So, here we go. Please bear with me as I figure out how it works, and actually get it set up the way I want.

I'd like to start with documenting some of the highlights from the last year. I think it's safe to say that I've experienced some of the biggest changes of  my life in the past year.

On April 28, 2012 I married Graham Lichti, the love of my life.

I very happily  pledged my life to him for "forever". This was the best day of my life. It was beautiful and perfect in so many ways.. the sun was shinning, tree's were that fresh Spring green, hearts were full of joy, and it was so sacred and Holy. It was a day I shall always remember. The past year of my life with him has been my best one yet. He's so incredibly good!

My dear and precious family. So sad to be living so far away from them...but I'm happy to be where God has called me to.

I loved this kissing ball. It added a perfect touch to the bridal table. I don't think there was anything I would want to change about that table. It turned out just like I had hoped.

I simply loved the flowers. My cousin did an incredible job!

I am so thankful to our Father for leading us together.. for giving us a perfect day. . Far beyond what I could even ask or think. We were able to go to the coast for pictures after we were done in Corvallis. Loved some of the shots our photographer got! Such a happy day...and such a perfect way for it to end.
